7th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “CONSTRUCTION SAFETY & HEALTH”

Cyfield is a major sponsor at the 7th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “CONSTRUCTION SAFETY & HEALTH” organized by SPOLMIK at Hilton Nicosia, Engomi on the 5th & 6th of November 2021.

The aim of the Conference is to present innovative practical solutions to achieve Vision Zero, with particular emphasis on the presentation of new technologies,
practices and tools for the transformation of the construction sector in the new digital age. While the construction industry faces unique challenges from the
global COVID-19 pandemic, the introduction of digitalisation is an important milestone for Safety and Health, as it will offer modernisation and smarter solutions
for safer working conditions, saving resources, better quality and less impact on the environment, with the ultimate goal of zero accidents.

Vision Zero is a new strategy to approach prevention integrating the three dimensions of safety, health and well-being at all levels of work. The Vision Zero
Strategy was adopted by European Commission (EU) through the new EU Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work 2021-2027, which was published
on 28th of June 2021.

Safe and healthy working conditions are not only a legal and moral obligation, but they also pay off economically – they are a key factor in competition.
International research on the return on investments in prevention proves that every euro invested in safety and health generated a potential benefit of more than
two euros in positive economic effects. Safe and Healthy working conditions contribute to healthy business.
The achievement of Vision Zero requires the commitment of many people. Vision Zero can be achieved by applying the Seven Golden Rules of the International
Social Security Association’s (ISSA) campaign Vision Zero, by all the Public and Private Organizations as well as by Institutions and Businesses. In addition, the
use of the recently developed Proactive Leading Indicators by ISSA facilitates businesses and organizations to measure and evaluate their quality and
performance in relation to safety and health.

This Conference is a follow-up to the 5th and 6th International Conferences held in May 2017 and 2019 respectively, in Cyprus, on the Vision Zero campaign.
